Skye Ross Consultation Services
You are entering a new era in your career and need some support to find your way. Professional consultation can help you move through new stuck points to find your groove in this next chapter. I am able to offer EMDR and professional consultation globally. For clinical supervision, I’m licensed in New York and Colorado.
- Newly trained in EMDR, but stuck trying to apply the protocol. You’ve been wondering whether you’re as good a therapist as you think you are since you’re struggling to get your clients the relief you know they deserve.
- Starting to offer clinical supervision, but questioning if you have the right experience. You’ve started to worry that your supervisees will realize you don’t know what you’re doing.
Move from “imposter” to “confident”
The UnStuck EMDR Consultation Framework supports clinicians who have completed their basic training, but are stuck in early phases or finding their clients looping. Social workers and therapists seek me out for professional consultation when they are offering clinical supervision for the first time, and as they step into management positions.
With a passion for supporting clinicians’ professional development, I have supervised social workers, mental health counselors, clinical supervisors, and case managers in New York City and Denver, Colorado since 2017. It is one of my greatest passions as a social worker and EMDR therapist to be able to support other clinicians in the field develop confidence in their work and improve their clients’ wellbeing.
My accomplishments include supporting newly trained EMDR clinicians to become confident, certified EMDR practitioners. As a professional consultant, I have trained non-profit staff in trauma-informed crisis response, effective and ethical clinical documentation, and case conceptualization. Over 30 practitioners have progressed in their careers through supervision and consultation with me.
The biggest difference is my confidence. I was very insecure in my skill level. I had little training on how to support folks with severe mental health conditions, and had been ‘winging it’ as best I could with the training I had, which was incredibly intimidating. I was terrified of causing harm and saying the wrong thing. The boost in confidence supported my growth in knowing that I can integrate multiple modalities and theories to fine-tune my client’s experience in a way that supports them best. My insight and awareness for myself and my clients is what feels the most different now. – Jessy B
Skye challenged me by encouraging me to look inward and understand my own triggers. She brought humanness to my experience as a supervisee who was/is still learning, without encouraging the imposter syndrome that exists in my self narrative… I recommend Skye to therapists who have or want to learn more about being trauma-informed and how to support complex cases. Understanding trauma and how it presents is something Skye is very good at, and something many mental health professionals need help with. Those interested in EMDR and other trauma modalities would be a good fit. – Jessica B
I was able to see myself more as a clinician. You helped me identify the clinical skills I was using and how I was applying those things in my work. And the confidence to join a group therapy practice. I don’t necessarily know that I would have explored joining a group practice if you hadn’t brought in your experience and helped me connect the dots in my own work.
– Courtney S
I felt my own hesitancy holding me back from using EMDR… And through consultation, I was trying out different protocols and being able to be playful. I like structure and seeing things move from A to B and that was so helpful at the beginning, but getting to just explore different avenues and different ways of doing things and using it to address different presentations… My conceptualization of how I do therapy has shifted through this process.

You really let me find my identity as a clinician and a social worker. I’ve known I have strong clinical skills, but I was extremely nervous to be someone’s ongoing therapist. Imposter syndrome out the wazoo. Leaving your team, I felt confident and free to be me as a therapist.
There was never a moment where you quieted me; I felt respect by you and given space to step more into my fun leader side too… I haven’t felt that comfortable in supervision before.
– Rachael M.
A moment that REALLY clicked for me was when I was talking to you about my discomfort and issues with overbooking my clients in my admin time. The pivotal moment for me was when I was talking to you about these struggles and just like really upset and you were like, ‘but that’s your time that you’re giving away.’ And I never looked at admin time like that but it’s so true it’s actually sacred, and since then I’ve had an easier time saying know and viewing admin time and breaks during the day as necessary to both me and consequently my clients. Now I feel more prepared to lay boundaries than I ever have, and I don’t feel guilty about it.
